OUR STORY
Chef Nico and Jessica met in the hospitality industry in 1999 and dreamed of one day owning and running one of the best restaurants in the city. This dream became a reality in May of 2008 when Mondello first opened it's doors. This unstoppable duo share a passion for all things hospitality and are committed to delivering an outstanding experience for their guests with each and every visit. Despite many challenges along the journey, Mondello is a well-respected destination with a reputation for consistent quality cuisine and outstanding service.

NICOLA IATOMASI
Nicola Iatomasi, owner and Executive Chef, orchestrates the magic that happens in the Mondello kitchen. Born in Naples, Italy, Nicola was inspired by his mother and her authentic home cooking. He studied the culinary arts at Liason College under Master Chef Robert Orsi, and fined-tuned his natural talents through various experiences in restaurants and hotels. Chef Nico creates and executes his own menus and can often be seen making his way around the dining room to greet his guests. Although he often experiments with the latest European trends, Nicola stays true to tradition by curing his own meats and baking his own bread.
Chef Nico and his creative team bring their passion, love of food and respect for the culinary world to Mondello.
JESSICA SPITERI
Jessica Spiteri, General Manager, obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Toronto and holds a CPA, CA designation. She spent several years in a global public accounting firm and in 2011, joined forces with Chef Nico as restaurateur. Her years at this boutique risto have elevated Mondello to the next level of excellence and hospitality. Jessica oversees almost all things Mondello, particularly organizing the many private family functions, corporate dinners, weddings and wine tasting events held in the elegant space. She is most frequently in the dinning room greeting guests, building relationships, and ensuring an unforgettable experience.
Jessica and her magnetic team bring their attention to detail, desire to please and smiling faces to Mondello.
